I’ve moved from place to place all my life. As adults, my husband and I have owned 15 homes in the last 20-ish years.
So I have a lot of experience moving, packing, and unpacking. We’ve sold many of our homes fully furnished, which provided the opportunity for me to re-stock everything from furniture and decor to silverware and linens. My life has been a constant process of acquiring and discarding, editing and refining.
When we decided to retire early, we downsized at the same time. We went from about 3000 sq ft on almost two acres to 1400 sq ft on a tiny lot. Along the way, I wrote Downsize Your Home, Rightsize Your Life.
