Sonya Myers is a contemporary American artist living on Florida's Nature Coast near Ocala. Working in acrylic and oil, she paints in abstract to abstract realism style.
Sonya is largely self-taught and started painting seriously only after retiring at age 68. She avoided the artistic calling for many years, diligently distracting herself by working as a writer, editor, program designer, jeweler, landscaper, business coach, real estate agent, and Pilates instructor.
Sonya is inspired by many aspects of the natural world. She is a student of animal communication and Tarot, as well as a 2nd degree Reiki practicioner.
