Portrait of a Suspect

Recently divorced, nearly broke, and sleeping on a cot in the back of her art studio on Venice Island, Florida, Paige Davenport takes a temporary teaching job at the newly established Sinclair Art Institute. The pay isn't much, but she needs the work.

The institute's director, Thatcher Sinclair, is someone Paige remembers from her college days. Charming, talented, and impossible to ignore, he has a way of drawing people into his orbit. When Thatcher is found murdered after a three-day painting workshop, Paige's history with him and her inability to hide what she thinks of him draw unwanted attention from the police.

As Detective Trey Caldwell investigates, Paige begins noticing small details that don't fit. The deeper she digs, the more convinced she becomes that Thatcher spent years leaving damage in his wake.
